Description

The MG RGM-79Q GM Quel is a 1/100 scale Master Grade plastic model kit from BANDAI HOBBY, based on the Mobile Suit Gundam: OVAs and Side Stories series, specifically Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. This highly detailed kit allows enthusiasts to construct the RGM-79Q GM Quel, a general-purpose mobile suit developed by the elite Titans special forces. The GM Quel was the first mass-produced mobile suit for the Titans, primarily utilized for peacekeeping, riot control, and suppression missions within space colonies. It is notable for its characteristic black-and-blue Titans paint scheme and its design lineage, serving as the base for the RX-121 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel] and featuring an arm design that evolved into the movable frame concept seen in the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II.

Key features of this Master Grade kit include its detailed internal components, providing an intricate build experience, though it does not feature a complete inner frame. The model boasts extensive articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. The head swivels on a ball-and-socket joint, and the arms can swing and swivel, with the shoulder joints capable of moving frontwards, backwards, and sideways. The upper arms rotate, and the elbows are double-jointed. The manipulators swivel on a ball-and-socket joint and feature poseable fingers (3+1+1 configuration). Further articulation is found in the waist, which swivels on a ball-and-socket joint, double-jointed knees, swiveling thighs, and ankles that also swivel. The front, side, and rear skirt armors can pivot to avoid interference during posing. A notable gimmick is the opening cockpit hatch, which reveals a pilot figurine inside. The kit is designed for snap-together assembly, meaning no glue is required. Customization is supported with included marking stickers and dry-transfer decals.

The MG RGM-79Q GM Quel kit comes with a comprehensive set of armaments and accessories, enabling various display options.

Included items:

  • RGM-79Q GM Quel model kit
  • Beam Saber (two included, one can be stored in the backpack)
  • HFW-GR·MR82 90mm GM Rifle (clip-fed, with removable magazine)
  • Spare magazines for the GM Rifle (two, stored within the shield)
  • BOWA·BR-S-85-C2 Beam Rifle (with an articulated forward grip)
  • Shield (can be wielded on either forearm)
  • 1/100 scale Titans pilot figurine (sitting)
  • 1/100 scale Titans pilot figurine (standing)
  • 1/20 scale Nina Purpleton figurine
  • Manipulators (one pair, including poseable, fist, and open-palm options)

This product is ideal for model kit enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate the intricate details and articulation of the Master Grade line. It is particularly suited for fans of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory and those interested in the Titans' mobile suit designs. Due to small parts and sharp points, this kit is recommended for ages 12 and older.
