Description

Mr Color GX 108 Clear Violet is a premium solvent-based acrylic lacquer paint from GSI Creos, part of their highest quality Mr. Clear Color GX series. This vibrant clear violet delivers outstanding clarity and transparency, making it an excellent choice for achieving brilliant finishes on your models.

Experience brighter color development, superior hiding power, and a stronger, smoother, and harder coating compared to standard Mr. Color paints. This quick-drying formula is also notable for being formulated without toluene. It can be seamlessly mixed with other Mr. Color paints currently on the market.

Ideal for creating stunning "Candy Coat" effects, this clear violet paint truly shines when applied over a silver base. For best results, consider using GSI Creos' SM201 Super Fine Silver 2 or Mr. Color C90 Shine Silver as your metallic undercoat. For an even smoother and glossier candy finish, allow the paint to fully cure for several days (ideally 1-2 weeks in cooler conditions), then polish the surface with Mr. Compound R189 or R190.

  • What's included: One 18ml bottle of Mr Color GX 108 - Clear Violet.

For application, Mr. Color GX 108 can be brushed or airbrushed. When brush painting, apply 3 to 5 thin coats, allowing 30-60 minutes drying time between initial thin coats and 1-2 hours for subsequent thicker layers. For airbrushing, 2 to 3 coats are recommended.

Thinning is recommended with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner for optimal glossiness and performance. A thinning ratio of 1 part paint to 0.8-1.0 parts thinner is suggested for brush painting, and 1 part paint to 1-2 parts thinner for airbrushing. While Mr. Color Thinner can also be used, it may result in a less glossy finish. Do not thin with Thinner for Aqueous Hobby Color or Acrysion Solvent.
