For optimal results, Mr. Color paints are best applied with an airbrush, typically requiring 2 to 3 coats. When airbrushing, it should be thinned with Mr. Thinner (available in standard, Rapid, or Levelling types) to a ratio of 1 part Mr. Color to 1-2 parts Mr. Thinner, depending on the desired viscosity. While primarily recommended for airbrushing, small details can be hand-brushed if the paint is thinned and applied in multiple thin coats, though visible brush strokes may occur. Adding a few drops of Mr. Retarder Mild can help slow drying and reduce brush marks during hand painting.

The semi-gloss finish of this paint can be further adjusted using Mr. Flat Base (sold separately). Mix approximately 5-10% Flat Base to achieve a more pronounced semi-gloss, or 10-20% for a full matte finish. Mr. Color paints dry quickly, often within minutes, and are highly durable, allowing for masking after about 24 hours without lifting.
