Mr. Color 30 Flat Base by GSI Creos is an essential additive for modellers seeking to precisely control the finish of their projects. This high-quality lacquer-based paint is specifically designed to adjust the gloss level of Mr. Color gloss and semi-gloss paints, allowing you to achieve a perfect matte or semi-gloss appearance. It is important to note that this product functions as a flattening agent and is not a clear coat on its own.

Achieve a semi-gloss finish by mixing approximately 5-10% of Flat Base into your Mr. Color gloss paints. For a full matte finish, a ratio of 10-20% is recommended. The exact percentage can be finely tuned to achieve your desired level of flatness.

Mr. Color paints, including this Flat Base, are renowned worldwide for delivering an outstanding, smooth, and hard-wearing finish. It is suitable for both brush painting and airbrushing applications. For optimal results when airbrushing, dilute with Mr. Color Thinner, Mr. Color Leveling Thinner, or Mr. Color Rapid Thinner at a ratio of 1 part Mr. Color to 1-2 parts thinner. When brush painting, a thinning ratio of 1 part Mr. Color to 0.8-1.0 parts thinner is suggested. Do not use thinners intended for Aqueous Hobby Color or Acrysion paints.
