Description
Experience the formidable power of the Imperial Japanese Navy with the Aoshima 1/350 I.J.N. Battleship Kirishima 1942 model kit, part of the distinguished IRON CRAD series. This meticulously crafted injection-plastic ship model kit captures the Kirishima as she appeared in 1942, a pivotal year in her storied career.
The Kirishima, a Kongo-class fast battleship, was a veteran of numerous crucial engagements in World War II. She played a role in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, participated in the attack on Darwin in February 1942, and was involved in the Japanese raid on the Indian Ocean in April 1942. Her combat history also includes the Battle of Midway in June 1942, and she ultimately met her fate during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in November 1942, engaging the USS Washington in a dramatic battleship-to-battleship encounter. Originally laid down as a battlecruiser in 1912, the Kirishima underwent extensive modernizations, transforming her into a powerful fast battleship with improved armor and the iconic pagoda mast.
Aoshima's kit features fine molding and superior detail, allowing you to construct a magnificent full-hull representation of this historic vessel.
