Mr Color GX 102 - Deep Clear Red is a premium solvent-based acrylic lacquer paint from GSI Creos, part of their highest quality Mr. Clear Color GX series. This 18ml bottle delivers exceptionally vivid colors with outstanding clarity and transparency, perfect for achieving stunning finishes on your models.
Experience superior performance with this advanced formula, which improves upon the qualities of standard Mr. Color paints. It features quick drying times and cures to a very hard, smooth coating. Modelers will appreciate its brighter color development and enhanced covering power, effectively hiding the base color for a flawless finish. GSI Creos has achieved this high-quality paint without the use of toluene.
This Deep Clear Red is ideal for creating a "Candy Coat" or metallic candy gloss effect, commonly used on model cars and robot plastic models. For the best metallic candy finish, apply over a silver painted base, such as SM201 Super Fine Silver 2 or Mr. Color C90 Shine Silver.

For optimal results, Mr. Color Leveling Thinner is recommended for dilution. While Mr. Color Thinner can be used, it may result in less glossiness. Do not thin with Thinner for Aqueous Hobby Color or Acrysion Solvent.
Application Guidelines:
- Brush Painting: Apply 3 to 5 coats, thinning the paint to a ratio of 1 (paint) : 0.8-1.0 (thinner).
- Airbrushing: Apply 2 to 3 coats, thinning the paint to a ratio of 1 (paint) : 1-2 (thinner). Use an airbrush with a bore diameter of 0.3mm or greater for an extremely fine spray.
- Apply the first few coats thinly, allowing 30-60 minutes to dry between coats. Once the first coat is completely dry, apply subsequent thicker layers, allowing 1 to 2 hours for each to dry.
Please note, this paint is not recommended for use on ABS resin parts.
