Description
Fujimi presents the 1/700 IJN Heavy Cruiser Chokai Full Hull, a meticulously detailed plastic model kit capturing the formidable presence of this Imperial Japanese Navy vessel. This kit allows enthusiasts to construct the Chokai as she appeared, showcasing her complete hull from waterline to keel.
The Chokai was the fourth and final vessel of the Takao-class heavy cruisers, launched in April 1931 and commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy in June 1932. These cruisers were designed under the constraints of the Washington Disarmament Treaty, building upon the Myoko-class design with significant enhancements. Improvements included new main artillery cannons, enhanced armor, an expanded bow superstructure, and an optimized layout for torpedo armament, all while maintaining a high top speed of up to 35.5 knots.
At the time of her launch, the real Chokai measured 203 meters in length and 19 meters in width, with a full displacement of 15,700 tons after modernization. Her primary offensive power consisted of ten 203mm guns housed in five twin turrets, complemented by four 127mm guns and eight 610mm torpedo tubes.
This Fujimi kit, identified as [KG-26] or FH-26, is a plastic model kit that requires assembly.
