[TOKU-21] 1/700 JAPANESE NAVAL TANKER KOKUYOMARU

Originally launched in December 1938 and entering service in May 1939, the Kokuyomaru was initially a civilian tanker built for the Kokuyo Line, designed to transport crude oil. Its robust construction and impressive dimensions, with a total length of approximately 152 meters and a width of about 20 meters, made it a vital asset. Capable of speeds up to 21-22 knots, the vessel was later commandeered by the Japanese Navy in November 1940, becoming a crucial fleet tanker from June 1941 and assigned to the 1st Air Fleet. The Kokuyomaru met its fate on July 30, 1944, when it was sunk by a torpedo attack from the USS Bonefish submarine.
