Description
Experience the might of the Imperial German Navy with the IRON CRAD 1/350 WWI German Battleship Konig model kit from Aoshima. This meticulously detailed plastic model kit allows you to recreate a pivotal dreadnought of the First World War, renowned for its robust design and significant combat history.
The SMS Konig was the lead ship of its class, commissioned in 1914 at the very outset of World War I. These powerful battleships were engineered for the challenging conditions of the North Sea and played a crucial role in the Kaiserliche Marine's Hochseeflotte. The Konig herself saw extensive action, most notably participating in the colossal Battle of Jutland in 1916, one of the largest naval engagements in history. She also contributed to the Moonsund operation against the Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea in 1917, where she famously sank the Russian battleship Slava. Following the armistice, the Konig, along with her sister ships, was interned at Scapa Flow and ultimately scuttled by her crew in June 1919, where her wreck remains to this day.
This Aoshima kit captures the essence of this historic vessel, providing an engaging building experience for enthusiasts. It features a one-piece hull, offering a solid foundation for assembly. The kit accurately represents the Konig's formidable armament, including her ten 305mm (12-inch) main guns housed in five double turrets, fourteen 150mm (5.9-inch) secondary guns, and ten 88mm (3.5-inch) guns. The detailed instructions include three-dimensional views and painting diagrams to guide you through the construction process.
