Aoshima presents the 1/700 scale model kit of the Imperial Japanese Navy's unique supply ship, Mamiya, from their renowned Waterline Series. This meticulously crafted plastic model kit allows enthusiasts to recreate a pivotal, albeit unconventional, vessel that played a crucial role in supporting the Japanese fleet during its operations. Mamiya was originally designed as an oil transporter but was famously converted into a dedicated food supply ship, equipped with specialized kitchens capable of producing vast quantities of traditional Japanese provisions, including yōkan, manjū, tofu, and konyaku, sufficient to feed 18,000 men for three weeks. She even featured stalls for 50 head of cattle below decks and possessed enhanced radio equipment, sometimes serving as an American battleship during fleet maneuvers.

This kit accurately captures the Mamiya's distinctive design and features, offering finely molded parts that depict the ship's hull, superstructure, and intricate deck details.
